About the Artist


A Missouri native, Judith grew up on and around rural farm life.  At the age of 19 she moved to Southern California and now resides in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Over thirty years of experience has brought Judith many awards, which include purchase awards from the cities of Sierra Madre, CA; LaQuinta, CA; and the St. George Museum, St. George, UT.  Museum exhibits include Phippen Museum Painters of the Desert, and the Hubbard Museum of the American West with the Western Artists of America.  Other recent exhibits include the National Western Art Foundations's The Night of Artists show in San Antonio, TX, 2007, 2008, and has been invited to return for 2009.  The American Plains Artists show 2007, Golden Spur Award; 2008 will be held at the Museum of the Southwest in Midland, TX.  Cowgirl Up! 2008 held at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg, AZ.  And has been invited to return for Cowgirl Up! 2009.   She has been featured in the Art Book of the New West as well as Art of the American West.

Although she has had no formal training, she has taken workshops from well known artists.  Judith enjoys painting a variety of subject matter in both oil and watercolor, and is know for her fresh clean tones.

Judith states:  For me, it's all about capturing the glow, whether through glazing, or layering, or purely choosing the right color formula that suits my work.
